    About Me
I’m an urban, solitary practitioner of a
Stregherian-based path with gyspy influences, and have extensive experience in divination & shadow work, including the use of dreamwork & oracles. I’m clairvoyant, clairsentient/ empathic, and have been honing my clairaudient abilities in the last few years. I also chart astrologically (natal, relationship, progressive) and am mastering palmistry.

My craft includes ritual observance and magickal practice with special attention to lunar & energy work. My path is my daily life, and that includes some kitchen/hedge in my repertoire. In addition, I enjoy Vedic practices of astrology, panchang, divination, meditation, pranayama & yoga.

I’m a member of my local pagan community, an experienced blogger, and have created a networking site for pagans called
    Global Pagans Online.

Oh! and I'm a Moon Child...
    absolutely! =þ

    Walking my Path

Tuesday, June 17, 2008, 12:19 PM EST [memes]

Do you have a name for your path? What is it?
In describing myself, witch, magickal practitioner, occultist, and ascension student.

How long have you been on your path?
On reflection, since I was four years old, pursuing since I was eleven, but realistically, since birth, or before!
    My first practice was dreamwork.

Is your path a religion, spirituality, both, neither, something else?
I consider it my path. Any religious structure in practice is my own construct, and some of my beliefs are well-described in other religious writings &/or practised by those of other faiths.

Are you part of a Coven, Grove, or group of some kind?
I am a solitary practitioner by choice, and would not feel comfortable practising with most. I do enjoy discussion groups though, and am in more than one local meetup. I also support pagan events in my city.

Do you have a sacred space inside or outside your house?
I consider all places in our universe sacred, but feel responsible for my home, and my neighbourhood. I enjoy practising in my home, and a few green spots in Ottawa.

What is your favorite part of your path?
Shadow work & Ascension. Searching for a means of facing myself, expanding on my knowledge & practice, bettering myself & thereby my role in the Divine community we are...

    Do you cast spells?
    Yes.

Have you ever drawn down the moon?
Yes, and have a very Lunar-centric path.

Are you empathic, clairvoyant, clairaudiant, precog. dreamer, intuitive/prophetic, something else?
Yes, and I believe that we can all work with these skills, but some are simply innately talented. Think on any endeavour.

    What's your favorite holiday?
Samhain, as it brings out the community, and am fond of Autumn. Flora's gifts of the Vernal Equinox, and the familial nature of Yule would be tied for second.

    What's your favorite season?
    Autumn.

    What's your favorite moon phase?
New. Has grown into a time of reflection & new beginnings, instead of using energy for action on Full Moons, am 'maturing' into the consideration phase of life, and gauging my contributions. Who knows what the future holds in my Lunar practices.

    What's your favorite element?
Water, and it's saved my life.

What kind/s of magick do you do (ie candle, divination, knot, ceremonial, etc.?)
Ceremonial (solar & lunar, ascension), and divination & scrying always. Each practice of mine is by definition geomagickal, as I use the vortices of an urban setting. Spellwork as needed, with strong folk elements & use of: sigils, candles, mojos, knotwork, philtres, and sex. Note that mojos have herbs, crystals, runes, paper, etc. in them!

What kind/s of magic do you excel at (ie healing, love, prosperity, etc.?)
Psychic defense & healing, ascension, and bindings. Sounds contrary, huh?

How far out of the broom closet are you?
Was naive about the closets out there, and it makes me sad that anyone feels that they must be in theirs.

What five words best say who you really are?
    confident, giving/nuturing, organized/detail-oriented, impatient, reliable
(I feel that I've mastered a way of combining these attributes for the betterment not detriment of myself & others, where they used to be hindrances or even harmful at times.)

Seventeen questions, huh? An interesting prime number...

    Pathetic, Yes, Addictive, Of Course!

Monday, June 9, 2008, 09:07 AM EST [Musings]

Happy Monday All! Just waking up with a cuppa, and wish I could climb into it like Garfield did. Have a disturbing experience to share: Garfield minus Garfield. Brace yourself!

Is addictive yet unnerving, poor Jon Arbuckle... how did we miss this?! Course, we did have a clue, didn't we? These strips certainly make you appreciate what you do have, even if you're as tired as I am right now...and the blog editor here added to that exhaustion, so I wonder how those who do not know code can stand it!

Have a great week, and hugs from Ottawa! *S*

    Shielding the Sacred

Friday, May 23, 2008, 11:24 AM EST [Musings]

Been awhiles since I last posted, and I've taken this time to pare down some of my online activities, to focus more time on relaxation, and invest in home/family—all of this in hopes of bettering my circumstances, and thereby, my health. The last year or two have been mixed extremes, as I watch parts of my life go from worse to much better, and other aspects in decline to the point that I'm now wishing I'd changed my priorities sooner. There's my karmic lesson!

I can clearly see that as my familiar became ill, my focus on my home declined with his inability to do so. When he passed, I faced all the manifestations of an unshielded home; why did I neglect my sacred space?! And included in the negative energies of my hearth, was the ill effect on my health. My new furbaby is a promising familiar, and a definite guardian of our space. She is pacing as we speak, tracking the scent of the workers, and securing our home—bless her! We still have a plumbing issue to resolve, flooring to lay/sand/finish, and then plaster & painting—all before we will add the design elements & fully unpack! Denial has been replaced with hope as my means of coping with this long period of upheaval; I remind myself that this is a new beginning. I certainly am seeing the improvements in every way, but like all good things, it can't be rushed.

I really enjoyed crafting an egg for my newborn nephew (posted on GPO as I do with most images). I used the pysanka method, and have upped the pic of the kit as my new Wordpress blog av for my crafting category, hehe. I've done my best this year to observe the Wheel, and do the things that ground me in the divine: crafting, planting, outtings, photography, readings, yoga, meditation, etc. My Tana Day celebrations included our Canadian Tulip Festival, a may day fire, time in nature with my Hon. We're doing much better as we invest in our future by working on the now... is there really any better way to say we're good? You have no idea how precious it was to watch him thoroughly engaged in a pysanka project; I'm surprised he didn't dye his nose tip, LOL!

GPO is now six months old, and my wee site has some formidible members who touch that witchy core in me. I have this online space like a digital grimoire, where I've bonded with other pagans as my family...amazing! Locally, a pagan book group has started, where we'll discuss whatever we're personally reading at that time. I'm exploring a magickal practitioner's group for discussions & expansion on our workings, and both these groups meet next weekend, so will have to update then. *S*

Tomorrow night is a goodbye gathering for a fellow pagan, and I'm sad to see her go. She's moving west, and this is a positive & exciting transit in her life. I wish her the best, but wish we could keep her here. We'll have a huge crowd in a party room of a local buffet house, and I know others feel about her as I do, so will be moving. On Tuesday, we had our last visit, and was great to be in her space, you know? I gave her a reading (using Tad & Goddess Guidance decks) focused on this special time, and naturally, Ostara (ms. fertility) popped right out of the deck, flew left of me, right at her, LOL! Pahn is going to be making babies as hoped... blessings Lovely, you'll be missed more than you know! She is a crafty lady too, and she gifted me one of her pieces... I love it, will cherish it as I do our friendship. Thank you again for such a touching means of thinking on you often!

We've taken a long weekend too, with Monday off to recouperate, LOL! On Sunday, we have a huge infamous garage sale that is set in a prestigious neighbourhood called the Glebe. Great stuff, wonderful homes, gorgeous nature on our canal, with unplanned meetups, and drinks afterwards...  this will be a blast, I know it!

So, there's my update, hitting on some key points anyhoo... blessings to all, and have a great weekend—I promise to do my best to ensure one!

    Rebooting with the Moon

Friday, February 22, 2008, 11:14 AM EST [General]

I had a crazy health scare last week, and am recovering from a relapse of my Anklyosising Spondylitis on top of everything else going on in my life. On February 13th, I called an ambulance for myself (never done that before), and asked for help because I thought I was having a heart attack *grimace*

Certainly makes you slow down... (hope that everyone really understands my need at this time)

I've been diagnosed with the genetic inflammatory condition A.S. which has many possible secondary conditions of inflammation, of which I have all but one (nice huh?) In 2002, I went to my GP for possible angina issues, and with 16 x-rays, he determined I have costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage of the rib cage) which is different in patients of A.S. because we have an issue with cartilage hardening to grow over joints, deforming the body & preventing flexion, function & posture. I was given a self-test to compare heart versus rib issues when I'm concerned in distinguishing them, and it turns out that if you press on the chest but the pain lessens, then release and hurts badly, that is your heart. If you press and it hurts equally or a bit more, but it's essentially the same on release, it's your costochondritis. Unfortunately, I spent four hours with worsening symptoms last Wednesday until I needed help determining if my heart was actually in trouble *sigh*

Evidently, my costochrondritis is progressing, and the symptoms are becoming much worse, in part due to Fibromyalgia in the muscles around my cage. This is not great news... And am in the process of screening my heart & other tests, so will have more definitive news soon.

I've become so accustomed to the issues with A.S. that on the whole, I appear both healthy & capable when going about my day, and plan strenuous activities every other day, unless am in relapse. Now I have fear for my future that cannot be ignored, and am desperately hopeful that with work, I can manage what is coming.

I'm not really up to covering the other 'issues' that are going on, LOL! Instead...

How about that Total Lunar Eclipse two nights ago!! *grins* I took the time to honour the Goddess, and observe this celestial event which I consider a reboot for the Moon—when she has reprieve for a few moments from the Sun's rays, separating God from Goddess for her renewal. I wanted the same for myself, and meditated on my opportunity for a new beginning. I divine on eclipses as well, with readings on myself & my relationships (very ironic to be doing Shadow work when the Moon is in Mother Earth's shadow!) I really love my practice.
