    Shielding the Sacred

Friday, May 23, 2008, 11:24 AM EST [Musings]

Been awhiles since I last posted, and I've taken this time to pare down some of my online activities, to focus more time on relaxation, and invest in home/family—all of this in hopes of bettering my circumstances, and thereby, my health. The last year or two have been mixed extremes, as I watch parts of my life go from worse to much better, and other aspects in decline to the point that I'm now wishing I'd changed my priorities sooner. There's my karmic lesson!

I can clearly see that as my familiar became ill, my focus on my home declined with his inability to do so. When he passed, I faced all the manifestations of an unshielded home; why did I neglect my sacred space?! And included in the negative energies of my hearth, was the ill effect on my health. My new furbaby is a promising familiar, and a definite guardian of our space. She is pacing as we speak, tracking the scent of the workers, and securing our home—bless her! We still have a plumbing issue to resolve, flooring to lay/sand/finish, and then plaster & painting—all before we will add the design elements & fully unpack! Denial has been replaced with hope as my means of coping with this long period of upheaval; I remind myself that this is a new beginning. I certainly am seeing the improvements in every way, but like all good things, it can't be rushed.

I really enjoyed crafting an egg for my newborn nephew (posted on GPO as I do with most images). I used the pysanka method, and have upped the pic of the kit as my new Wordpress blog av for my crafting category, hehe. I've done my best this year to observe the Wheel, and do the things that ground me in the divine: crafting, planting, outtings, photography, readings, yoga, meditation, etc. My Tana Day celebrations included our Canadian Tulip Festival, a may day fire, time in nature with my Hon. We're doing much better as we invest in our future by working on the now... is there really any better way to say we're good? You have no idea how precious it was to watch him thoroughly engaged in a pysanka project; I'm surprised he didn't dye his nose tip, LOL!

GPO is now six months old, and my wee site has some formidible members who touch that witchy core in me. I have this online space like a digital grimoire, where I've bonded with other pagans as my family...amazing! Locally, a pagan book group has started, where we'll discuss whatever we're personally reading at that time. I'm exploring a magickal practitioner's group for discussions & expansion on our workings, and both these groups meet next weekend, so will have to update then. *S*

Tomorrow night is a goodbye gathering for a fellow pagan, and I'm sad to see her go. She's moving west, and this is a positive & exciting transit in her life. I wish her the best, but wish we could keep her here. We'll have a huge crowd in a party room of a local buffet house, and I know others feel about her as I do, so will be moving. On Tuesday, we had our last visit, and was great to be in her space, you know? I gave her a reading (using Tad & Goddess Guidance decks) focused on this special time, and naturally, Ostara (ms. fertility) popped right out of the deck, flew left of me, right at her, LOL! Pahn is going to be making babies as hoped... blessings Lovely, you'll be missed more than you know! She is a crafty lady too, and she gifted me one of her pieces... I love it, will cherish it as I do our friendship. Thank you again for such a touching means of thinking on you often!

We've taken a long weekend too, with Monday off to recouperate, LOL! On Sunday, we have a huge infamous garage sale that is set in a prestigious neighbourhood called the Glebe. Great stuff, wonderful homes, gorgeous nature on our canal, with unplanned meetups, and drinks afterwards...  this will be a blast, I know it!

So, there's my update, hitting on some key points anyhoo... blessings to all, and have a great weekend—I promise to do my best to ensure one!
